Return of Bennu Sample by OSIRIS-REx, the Asteroid Probe, NASA
The asteroid sample from Bennu, collected by OSIRIS-REx as part of NASA's first asteroid sample return mission, is scheduled to return to Earth on September 24th (Japan Time). Based on an agreement between NASA and JAXA, a portion of the sample will be distributed to JAXA and is expected to be received by the Astromaterials Research Group (ASRG). ASRG is making preparations for the sample's arrival.

The sample capsule safely returned to Earth on September 24 at 8:52 a.m. (Japan Time 11:52 p.m.).
