Visit to The University of Texas High-Resolution X-ray Computed Tomography Facility

As a desktop type microCT scanner has been installed at the curation facility this February, we have been interested in developing the protocol specific to the returned samples and meteorites with the CT imaging system. Four members from JAXA curation team visited the UTCT facility – a leading CT facility that has collaboration with JSC/NASA – on Aug 8 prior to visiting JSC/NASA. During the visit, researchers working at the facility kindly shared the experience of imaging the meteorites with the state-of-the-art CT imaging system (Xradia 620, Zeiss).
