Ideas exchange with NASA /JSC curators

Three curators from NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) visited JAXA curation facility from July 19 to 22 and we had productive and lively discussions of the curation techniques and plans of the samples from Ryugu and Bennu over the course of four days of their visit. They have toured the clean rooms at the curation facility and observed the sample procedures such as sample pick-up. They participated in the few mock-up activities, such as opening the container of the Hayabusa 2 samples, and picking the “samples” up using the vacuum tweezers.

The JAXA curation team is scheduled to visit the NASA JRC in the coming August to learn about the curation techniques at JRC. Stay tuned for updating our news of the visit to NASA JSC!
