Sample Distribution to NASA & 1st Anniversary Events for the Hayabusa2 Sample Return!
Part of the Ryugu sample was distributed to NASA on November 30th. This distribution followed the plans laid down in the NASA/JAXA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). USUI Tomohiro, Manager of ASRG, carried the samples from JAXA to the NASA Johnson Space Center, and delivered these to the curatorial staff.
December 6th this year was the 1st anniversary for the sample return to Earth by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft. Grains from the sample are currently on display at events hosted at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) and the Sagamihara City Museum!
