Further research collaboration between JAXA and Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) on MicrOmega

At our facility, we have been conducting infrared microscopic measurements on Ryugu samples returned to Earth in Hayabusa2 mission using MicrOmega provided by CNES. These initial description data are open to the public in the Ryugu catalog.

NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission to collect samples from an asteroid Bennu will return to Earth this September. JAXA curation is planning to conduct a MicrOmega analysis of the returned Bennu samples in continuous collaboration with CNES, which is expected to bring further research outcomes for the Bennu samples.
